Just to make sure that my system is compatible with any downloadable poker game I wish to avail of, what system conditions do I need to fulfill? This was my question to a friend who's a web programmer, a certified computer whiz. He is also has a love affair with poker so I know he understands why I have to ask that question. He gave me tips which I would like to share to all those who love the "luxury" of downloadable poker games.
The best operating software so far for generally all kinds of downloadable poker games is Windows 98 and above. Just to be safe, try Windows 2000 or XP. Recently, I checked out several poker gaming sites on the Internet and I noticed that some work only on higher Microsoft operating systems. Try a LCD screen with about 300 colors and an 800X600 pixel resolution. Your random access memory (RAM) should be able to accomodate at least 70 megabytes, just to be safe. And, your computer system has to be Pentium.
A sound or audio card is really not necessary, but once you get your downloadable poker games, you'll soon find out how dreary it is to play with so many graphics without any sound. So, just for you to really have fun, invest on a sound card.
